Gemco Manufacturing Celebrates 70th Anniversary Milestone

70th AnniversarySouthington, CT, June 28, 2013 – Gemco Manufacturing Co. Inc. recently celebrated with its employees and invited vendors the outstanding accomplishment of seventy years in business. Presentations were made to its President, Mark DiVenere by Art Secundo of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, Representative David Zoni of the State of Connecticut General Assembly and Louis Perillo of the Town of Southington.

Established in 1943 in Plantsville, CT as the vision of five entrepreneurs one of which was Dominic DiVenere, today Gemco remains a family business owned and operated by the third generation of the DiVenere family. In 1948 having established themselves in the region, they moved to a larger facility in Southington; and in 2001 built their current facility on West Queen Street.  During these years a broad and diverse customer base has been established, to include manufacturing components for home appliance, thermostats, electrical connectors to automotive components. All these components were manufactured using the fourslide machine process, an extremely versatile and efficient means of manufacturing metal components. Power Press or progressive die components were added in the late 1980’s increasing the size, precision and complexity of the custom metal components they manufacture.

Today Gemco Manufacturing continues to provide precision metal components to the automotive, consumer products, medical, electronics, aerospace and telecommunications industries. In keeping with a competitive global marketplace, in this anniversary year, Gemco has also launched a new informative website. Visit us at www.gemcomfg.com.
