Specialized Packaging and Handling

The vast majority of parts manufactured here at GEMCO are processed, packed and shipped as bulk items in either plastic lined corrugated boxes, fiber barrels or palletized Gaylord boxes. However, if your parts need special packaging or handling, we are equipped to meet your needs.

Customer’s requirements, GEMCO’s ability … we get you what you need, how you need it, when you need. Reliably, responsibly and with a lot of experience

GEMCO Manufacturing specialized packaging and handlingOur innovation and experience allow us to find creative solutions to fit your needs. GEMCO has developed an automated capability to manufacture and supply terminals and other components on bandoliers or carriers. These stamped components can now be loaded onto a variety of reel sizes, with or without paper interleaving, across all of our machine types.

Here are a few examples of how we go above and beyond for our customers.

Creating an automated capability to increase efficiency

A large, stamped lead frame, supplied to an automotive customer, could not be shipped in bulk as they were too fragile. Working with our corrugated supplier, GEMCO developed a solution by designing die-cut inserts which allowed us to orient and protect each part so that they could be shipped without concern.

This solution allowed the customers’ operator to load the lead frames into the molds in a more efficient and faster manner, improving the cycle time as well. In addition, the die-cut inserts were able to be returned to GEMCO to be reused, which helped to control costs and reduce waste.

Dealing with small, highly polished, blemish-free parts

One of GEMCO’s long time customers, who services the medical industry, needed to have discreet parts, as well as assemblies, delivered with a highly polished and blemish-free surface. These parts are individually wrapped in sulfur-free paper, using lint-free cotton gloves, to ensure that each and every part is free of any surface contamination or marks and remains protected until opened on the production line.
